You can't get around marketing your course.
It won't sell itself, unfortunately.
But if you're anything like me, self-promotion makes you really uncomfortable.
To blame are the gazillion ads we see every day from businesses that scream at us to buy whatever they're selling.
You don't want to be one of those people (at least I don't) who go for the hard sell and rely on paid ads to get people in the door.
But there's another way.
As course creators, we are educators. And can use these strengths in our marketing.
How? By becoming your audience's trusted guide.
When you treat every social media post and email as an opportunity to teach and give value, your audience will be better off consuming your marketing. If they buy or not.
This way, you never have to be apologetic about emailing or posting.
Think of it as getting invited into their life. By following you and joining your email list, your audience asked you to be there. Now you're required to act in their best interest.
You never have to shout at people with sales messages. You can ask questions and listen instead to start to understand your audience on a deep level.
And what happens when someone makes the effort to get to know us? We start to trust that person.
So, when you show that you understand their challenges and goals, your audience will feel seen, heard, and understood.
Consequently, they'll welcome the opportunity to join your course as the next step on their journey.
