Sure, a lead magnet (such as a free guide, ebook, or template) is a great way to attract new email subscribers.
BUT: Just because your new subscriber has received one email with a download button doesn’t mean they actually read your guide, let alone took action on what’s inside.
I mean...we’ve all been there. We’ve excitedly signed up for something shiny and new, only for it to collect digital dust in our downloads folder until it gets deleted by accident.
That’s not what you want!
You need people to read your content, apply your lessons & tips, and see the benefits, so they know that what you have to offer works. (And so they get excited for what else you got).
Here’s the solution:
Follow up your lead magnet with an email series.
Send them an email every day (or every other day), repeating what’s in your lead magnet. Spoon-feed the content to them!
This takes only a little extra time to set up since you’ve already created the content.
Bonus points if you include a call-to-action at the end of each email, nudging your prospects to engage with your content and reply with questions/their progress.
Is this overkill? By no means!
Even if they’ve read the whole thing, they likely need to hear it again for the lessons to sink in.
Never underestimate how often someone needs to hear your message before it hits a nerve.
